Dr. Alessandro Rotondo received his training at the medical school of the University of Pisa, Italy. He completed his psychiatric residency at the Department of Psychiatry, Neurobiology, Pharmacology, and Biotechnology (DPNPB) of the University of Pisa and had his training at the Laboratory of Neurogenetics of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism/National Institutes of Health, Rockville, MD, at the Department of Genetic Epidemiology of the New York State Psychiatric Institute at the Columbia University, and at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh. From 1998 to 2008 he was on the faculty at the University of Pisa, in the DPNPB. Presently, he is adjunct professor of Criminology at the University of Pisa.
Dr. Rotondo has done research on neurobiology and pharmacological treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and eating disorders. He is the author of about hundred publications in international journals.
